All staff, volunteers and bus drivers who will be in regular contact with the students, will submit a current criminal record check before service begins. A current criminal record check of all staff and volunteers is kept on file.

New families will be given the forms at admission so the forms can be completed and the criminal checks returned to the school and filled.

If criminal checks come back with previous charges of human harm, the individual will not be allowed to volunteer with students until a pardon is received.

If criminal checks come back with previous charges of driving offenses the individuals will not be allowed to drive students to any functions or events.

All criminal checks will remain confidential.

A confirmation letter will be required yearly to confirm that there have been no changes in the individual’s status and every three years a new police check will be required.

Employee will be reimbursed by the board for any charges for the criminal checks.

Volunteers will be required to pay for their own.

Bus drivers are required by the bus company to have a check.
